Exit 16E Northbound and exit 17 Southbound on the New Jersey Turnpike will be closed to all vehicles other than shuttle buses and rideshare drivers for 4 hours before each FIFA match, the 2 hours during the match, and for the 2 hour time window after each game is over. Exit 15X will remain open an alternate.

Detours are posted on all signage and GPS data will have all detours included as well.

Please be advised that the Vince Lombardi Service Area on the New Jersey Turnpike will be impacted by the FIFA World Cup matches being played at nearby NY/NJ (MetLife) Stadium. The first of eight matches being hosted there will be tomorrow, Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 6:00pm.

There are approximately 200 truck parking spaces at Vince Lombardi. Beginning at 6:00pm on Friday June 12, 2026, as trucks exit the area, about 150 truck parking spaces will be reserved for staging emergency response equipment and personnel. It is anticipated that the roadways around the stadium will be back to normal by 10:00pm Saturday June 13, 2026, and the service area will be back to normal late Saturday into early Sunday morning June 14, 2026. Fueling operations will be uninterrupted. 

Motor carriers are advised to plan accordingly and if at all possible, avoid the area. Based on Saturday's performance, changes may be made for the seven future matches. The next match is Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 3:00pm. 

The New Jersey Motor Truck Association thanks Governor Sherrill and the New Jersey Turnpike Authority for their collaboration with us by not closing the service area entirely.  We will provide updates to the trucking industry as necessary.

As New Jersey prepares to welcome visitors from around the world for the upcoming FIFA World Cup, the New Jersey State Police are urging the trucking industry to remain vigilant in the fight against human trafficking. Large-scale international events often lead to increased criminal activity, including human trafficking, making awareness and reporting more important than ever.

The New Jersey State Police have asked the New Jersey Motor Truck Association and its members to assist in this important mission by educating drivers and employees on the warning signs of trafficking and encouraging them to report suspicious activity. Truck drivers are uniquely positioned to observe situations at truck stops, rest areas, hotels, and highways that may indicate someone is being exploited or held against their will.

To support these efforts, Truckers Against Trafficking has developed a comprehensive nine-page resource guide that explains what human trafficking is, how it impacts the trucking industry, signs and indicators to watch for, and the proper actions to take when suspicious activity is observed. NJMTA encourages all member companies to share this information with their drivers immediately as we approach this high-profile event. By working together, the trucking industry can continue to play a vital role in protecting vulnerable individuals and helping law enforcement combat human trafficking throughout New Jersey.
